Margin & Operational Improvement drives measurable financial improvement by providing clients with comprehensive solutions designed to increase revenue, optimizing cost containment strategies. This division utilizes innovative approaches to transform operating models and deliver true sustainable margin improvement. Our team of operation leaders, business analysists and deep subjects matter experts focus on implementing solutions around the following focus areas:

- Managed care, Revenue Integrity and Pricing Strategies
- Ambulatory Operations and Physician Enterprise
This position is a full-time position as a member of our consulting staff and will support client engagement while learning about specific areas of the practice. The person will be an integral part of the team that will work at the client site. This position will work directly with the other team members to assess the opportunity and implement the initiatives determined to be beneficial to the client. Training will occur on the job with frequent feedback to support development and growth.

We combine traditional performance improvement with our clinical approach to help hospitals transform their organizations and significantly improve their margins, with strategies that emphasize rapid results and considerable return on investment.
Responsibilities
- Performs data collection (quantitative and qualitative), research (industry and subject matter), and analysis utilizing basic analytic techniques to solve client problems
- Provides expertise in insurance denial protocols and works with the client to recommend solutions.
- Applies appropriate tools and methodology to assignments and if unavailable completes research utilizing journals and online tools to move the initiative forward
- Identifies next steps and/or work arounds on assigned tasks to begin working more independently
- Audits practices and own work via data analysis, interviewing, and shadowing to ensure good quality work, identify inconsistencies, and elevate areas of opportunity or risk
- Manages client relationship at the representative level
- Adapts to different client personalities and internal management styles to ensure expectations are met on both ends
- Communicates effectively in all manner and adjusts context based on role of individual being addressed
- Participates in a positive team environment and works hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience in Revenue Cycle, and preferably someone already at the Manager level in consulting or Director level in the healthcare industry;
- Experience related to leading Denials Avoidance/Prevention and Avoidable Write-Offs initiatives with measurable financial results;
- Experience with process redesign and process improvement;
- Experience working across the entire Revenue Cycle (including Patient Access, HIM/Coding, and Patient Financial Services) for initiatives;
- Cerner Patient Accounting experience is preferred;
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or equivalent in the areas of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, public health, engineering or other practice related subjects; and
- Proven capability with MS Excel is necessary. Knowledge and experience with other analytical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS Access, MS SQL Server) is preferred. A willingness to expand those capabilities is helpful.
Willing to travel consistently (50% - 75%, depending on project requirements and client expectations) is required for this position.
Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
Consultant Salary Range: $70,000 $150,000 per year.
Managing Consultant Salary Range: $100,000 $230,000 per year
